Claude and ChatGPT

AI apps with custom connectors sign you in with OAuth, so you don’t need an API key. The assistant then works as you: with your access, and every decision under your name.

Claude

1. Open Settings → Connectors and choose to add a custom connector.
2. Name it Typetone and paste the server URL: https://api.app.typetone.ai/mcp/
3. Click Connect and sign in with your Typetone account.
4. In a new chat, turn on the Typetone connector and ask something like “Which audits do we have in Typetone?”

ChatGPT

1. Add a custom connector (app) in ChatGPT’s settings. Depending on your ChatGPT plan, a workspace admin may need to allow custom connectors first.
2. Use the server URL https://api.app.typetone.ai/mcp/ and choose OAuth as the authentication method.
3. Sign in with your Typetone account when ChatGPT asks.
4. Start a chat with the Typetone connector enabled.

Other AI apps

Any app that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth works the same way: add the server URL and sign in. If the app only supports a fixed header, use an API key instead.

Troubleshooting

• “Access denied” after signing in. Your workspace needs the Enterprise plan, and you need to sign in with the email address you use for Typetone.
• The connector disconnects after a while. Reconnect it from the app’s connector settings; your sign-in is kept for up to 30 days of inactivity.
• Your company’s AI app won’t accept the connector. It may use a sign-in address we haven’t allowlisted yet. Contact us with the app’s name.
